Aromas of ripe strawberry, passion fruit, and grapefruit with hints of melon and grass. Velvety on the palate with flavors of watermelon and strawberry, hints of zest, and a minerally finish.
We de-stemmed and macerated (soaked the skins) the Red Heaven Syrah for 12 hours before going to press. The free-run and pressed juice were blended together in tank and fermented for approximately 22 days using R4600 yeast. The Grenache and Mourvedre from Sugarloaf and Elephant Mountain Vineyards were whole-cluster pressed and blended together in tank. This co-fermentation lasted for approximately 23 days using R4600 yeast. After five months of aging in tank, these two different styles of rose were blended together and cross-flow filtered before prior to bottling on March 29th, 2019.
